Trump Does 180, Embraces "One China" Policy

Only a week after setting the diplomatic world on fire by taking a call from Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, ending decades of U.S. conformity to "One China," Mr. Trump has reversed course, declaring in no uncertain terms his full embrace of "One China." Trump took to Twitter this morning to proclaim "There is and only ever will be ONE CHINA; its capital is Beijing; its President is Xi Jinping."

Separately, Donald Trump Jr. held a press conference with Xi Jinping this morning to announce that construction has already begun on Trump Hotel: Fiery Cross Reef, the world's first full-featured five-star hotel built on an artificial island. The island will continue to function as a Chinese military instillation as its new Trump Hotel will largely cater to the top brass of China's military, with, in Trump Jr.'s words, "the most full-service spa staffed by China's most beautiful women as selected through a new pageant reality show produced by my father, airing next spring. It's his first Chinese language television production. We're just thrilled with the coincidental synergy we've unwittingly happened upon."
